Scope and ContentCollection of seventeen framed photographs showing stages of hand cotton cloth production in colonial Nigeria and machine production in Britain. The images include one appearing to show the railway at Gusau, dating the series to 1927 at the earliest. The Nigerian images show men and women spinning, weaving, buying and selling seed cotton. They may be Hausa or Fulani people, or both. The British images show machinery and employees at a large scale textile mill.
