Scope and ContentThe collection consists of four publications and a bundle of documents written by, or referred to by, Leslie Cedric Parker in the course of his employment with the Electricity Council. They relate to the design of heating systems for the home, and the provision of electricity services by local Electricity Boards.
The period covered by the collection was a time when new types of domestic electric heating were being explored by the Electricity Council, to offer home owners an affordable and convenient alternative to gas or coal fired heating systems.

Archival historyThis collection was created by Leslie Cedric Parker in the course of his employment at the Electricity Council from 1945 to 1979. Mr Parker contributed to the two design manuals on Floor Warming & Domestic Systems and to a research document on Storage Heater Systems. Mr. Parker retained the documents on his retirement from the Electricity Council. They were donated to the museum in 2013 by a relative.
