The business was set up by a toy company, Mettoy, and initial sales were strong. A magazine, 'Dragon User' was set-up shortly after the microcomputer was launched. The technical limitations of the products led to a loss of market share. The company came under the control of GEC (the General Electric Company), and developed the Dragon Alpha (or Professional) and Beta (or 128). The new systems made it to the prototype stage before the business went into receivership. The company was sold to the Spanish startup Eurohard in 1984. It was under Eurohard that the Dragon 200 was released. Eurohard itself experienced financial difficulties and filed for bankruptcy in 1987. Wadman, Richard Author of books on computing, active in the early 1980s. Sinclair, Ian Robertson Ian Robertson Sinclair is a prolific author of practical books on computing and electronics, known to have been active from 1972 until 2007. Sunshine Books London-based publisher of books on computing, known to have been active between 1983 and 1986. Salamander Software Salamander Software developed computer games for early home computers and entertainment systems, including the Dragon 32 microcomputer. Titles they produced included Gridrunner and Laser Zone. They developed games for use on the 32k Tandy Colour Computer and ORIC 1. Many of the items are annotated. Extent2 volumes, 1 magazine and 1 file of papers Physical descriptionThe material is in a fair to good condition. The volumes show some signs of wear on the covers. The programming manual has a sellotape repair to the back cover. The magazine is worn along the spine. The computer game instructions are in a fair condition, with one being stained on the lefthand corner and in a brittle condition.
